OH boy are these the COOLEST? I really want one but my boys are out of diapers. (that is a good thing, afterall they are ages 6 and 13). Hmmmm I wonder if I could use if for something else.
Stylish, hip and incredibly quick. Not words one would typically associate with changing diapers, but the Ubi changing table is all that and more. Both the basic and deluxe tables make changing diapers a breeze by always having a fresh diaper laid out ready for the next change, while the retro-mod prints and clean wood lines appeal to today’s modern parents. Don't settle for traditional. Embrace change.
This table comes in two variations the Basic and the Deluxe. You also have the option of choosing Natural Wood or Cherry and have 6 different prints to choose from!
 The Basic Table:
The basic table is made of bent wood and upholstered with an easy-to-clean surface. It also features fasteners on the top surface which holds the diaper in place while changing baby. The Deluxe Table: The deluxe table is made of bent wood and upholstered with an easy-to-clean surface. It features fasteners on the top surface which holds the diaper in place while changing baby. In addition, it also has a built-in diaper dispenser, which stores a small stack of diapers and automatically feeds a diaper to the top surface after baby is changed. Get your ubi changing table at the A.B. Baby Boutique or sign up for a registry and have someone else pick it up for you!
When I saw these fabulous hand painted wooden knobs by Mickie Calascione of La Rysch Designs, I had to know more! They are gorgeous! Each knob (there are dozens to choose from) is 1.5" in diameter and is coated with 3 layers of non-toxic clear acrylic. They are ready to install with hardware included. Why not spruce up the bedroom with these works of art for a perfect finishing touch! I asked Mickie to tell me more about herself and how she began creating these fabulous little paintings on wooden knobs!
Here is her uplifting story:
"As a former elementary school teacher, kids, color and fun have always played an important role in my life, and of course, getting a little messy along the way. After the birth of our 4th child, teaching was not an option any more. Our 4 yr old at that time(now 8 and healthy as a horse), suffered from chronic croup , constant asthma attacks, scary visits to the emergency room in the middle of the night, treatments under my desk at school, and "my" calling more subs than I care to imagine; so we said, "enough already". I was finally "just a mom". A role I had wanted to play for a long time. I won’t say that it was easy, financially it was hard, but worth every penny we didn’t have any more. God has blessed us 4 times with the most perfectly, wonderful children anyone could wish for, and no amount of "Gold" in the world could replace the riches that we already have in them. Since then, four years have passed; our children are older, happy and healthy; our 2 dogs have turned into 3dogs plus 2 cats; and our pennies are still pennies, but now I have more time to "do something with that art thing", my husband, whom I love dearly, likes to say. My dream has became reality, "La Rysch Designs" is here to stay . Born out of the love of my family, and named after my children (Ryan, Lauren, Shelby, and Cheryl). My business allows me to be a mom and wife first, and do what I love to do daily- create, enjoy life, and dream a little. I believe that if anyone has a dream out there, no matter how big or small, believe in it and it will become reality. So many of us wait for the perfect time, save for the right amount of money, wait to have children, etc, and then the "perfect" time has already come and gone. If "we" had waited for any of the above, than our perfectly, wonderful children would still be waiting up there on their stars, La Rysch designs would still be a dream, and no one would be able to have any of these cute, little, whimsical creations of mine! "

Remember the Bunny Painting I was working on? Well he is done and up for sale in the A.B. Baby Boutique. What do you think? Beth suggested I add daisies. I think she was totally on the mark! Thanks Beth!
Sitting down to eat a meal can become something you dread as a parent if you have a picky toddler to feed. Perhaps it feels like your child is in a food rut and only wants that one food and nothing else. Or maybe it doesn’t matter what you try, they just won’t eat. It doesn’t have to be that way though. There are two parts to creating fun at the dining room table.
First, as challenging as it may be, it might be your attitude that could use some tweaking. Toddlers are exploring everything at this stage, especially food. If you approach meal time as an adventure of sight, smell, touch and taste then you have already won half the battle. Come to the table armed with the abilities to laugh and play, because if you are tense your child will be too and will not be as willing to try new things.
Singing is also a way to take their mind off of the food and onto you instead. It doesn’t matter if you would never make it onto American Idol; your child loves to hear your voice. Use finger play and even full body movements to go along with the songs. Before you know it, they will be moving in their booster seats right with you.
Second is presentation. A sandwich on white bread is boring to look at and after the initial touch, there isn’t much else to explore. Instead, create “This ‘N That” plates for them. Cut up a variety of fruits, meats and vegetables in small amounts and just place them in small piles around their plates. Include some whole grain crackers for crunchiness and even use some dips like ketchup or your favorite salad dressing. Children love to dunk and have fun with food.
There will be times that you will have to think outside the box to get your children to try something new. Perhaps your son is really big on meat, bread, milk and not much else. Grab that blender and start whipping up some real fruit smoothies and other concoctions. The boy that would never eat a banana just might love a banana and strawberry shake. If your daughter is great about fruits and veggies, but could care less about meat, you could start looking into some vegetarian cookbooks to see what other protein options are out there.
It is said that it can take introducing a new food up to 20 separate times to a child before they will eat it, so don’t give up on providing a healthy, well-rounded diet for your young ones. If your meals are stressful, it could cause food issues later in life. Feeding children shouldn’t be overwhelming. Just take a step back, see if you can start approaching meals differently and don’t limit your creativity when it comes to presentation.
I absolutely love these. I wish I would have thought of them when my boys were little. But back then I was lucky if I had time to think. Not that I have time to think now, but being that this is what I do for a living, I am always in this creative mode. So I introduce to you a different approach to your typical wall hanging.
