What if you could...

Have you ever had a really weird thought, you know the kind of thought that you are thinking, my goodness if anyone ever knew that, that thought entered my mind... or have you ever done something that you really never ever, ever want anyone to know you did it? It doesn't have to be a bad thing, it could just be really embarrassing or it could be a bad thing. It really doesn't matter you just would like to keep that a secret. We all have them and have done them, right? Sometimes you may wish you could tell someone but in fear of their reaction or more importantly in fear of blackmail you just can't tell.
Apparently I found the perfect place for when this happens. For when you just have to tell someone your deep dark or maybe funny stuff! Well you can do that and nobody has to know it was you! Now, mind you I have not yet done this. Notice I say "yet" as I do plan on someday (before I go home to the big pie in the sky) once I decide what crazy thing I want to reveal to the world. Just make a really cool artsy postcard with your secret on it and send it here.
I love reading these. Some are just really sad and make you want to cry. Some don't really say much at all, but you definitely know what they are talking about and some are just absolutely hysterical.
This is one reason why I love the web. There are just so many cool places to see, things to read and people to meet. You can get a piece of what someones life is like without knowing their name. You know their secret but you have no idea who they are, where they live, where they have come from, how they grew up. You just know something and your mind can really wander. So think about that one little thing while I go think of mine...

I've been harassed enough...

I have been harassed enough. On Monday I met with my friend and affiliate Angela. She is a fabulous photographer. If you ever want some really beautiful portraits she is your woman! We met at Starbucks where my sister Jacque was kind enough to give us some free joe. We chatted about our upcoming collaborative trunk show (end of March or first weekend in April) and plans etc. Working out the details and such she asked me the question that I have been asked over and over again! "Do you make shopping cart covers?" I said, "Actually I am going to make one today!" that was my deciding moment. For a year now, I have been asked that question from friends, customers and relatives so I decided to just go do it.
So I made my first shopping cart cover and it came out fantastic! I really love it! But, I realized that it won't fit on Costco's carts. So, while buying too much stuff and spending mucho dinero at Costco this weekend, I decided to measure those darn carts. Luckily I was with the husband and he, being a man, had a measuring tape in his truck.
So I did my trial run of my Deluxe Shopping Cart Cover and wallah! It works. So now I will have both up for sale. Depending on their popularity, I will determine to continue making both or just make the Deluxe. After all, it fits on any cart! It is super cute and I wish I had a little baby to use it with!

Current Projects

This is me...

I can see why my husband lets out a big sigh and then chuckles when he comes home to this...Nothing like making a mess... too bad I have to clean up my own messes...hey that's a concept, wonder why my boys don't seem to grasp that...aah that is a battle I will leave out this fine Friday eve.

Here are some of my "works in progress" notice I said "works" that is one of my issues. I have to have lots going on at once. Have a peek and I will let you see the finished product(s) when they are finished!

I almost forgot to mention my chair! I covered a hideous old chair and made it absolutely fabulous! What do you think? I just love it.

Do I really want a blog?

Do I really want a blog? I ask myself that question all the time! Apparently I was told that I need one according to my friend Amy! But does anyone really want to see, hear or read what I am up to? Who knows? I guess I shall find out.

I guess you can call me "artsy fartsy" after all, I am always making stuff! Sometimes the things I make turn out great sometimes not so great. So anyway, back in the Spring of 2006 I decided to take my "makings" and open my own boutique. After all, selling them to "other" boutiques was becoming time consuming and since they would have to mark up I would basically find myself making a very slim profit. Why spend an entire day reproducing dozens of the same item, hating it more and more as I cranked them out? Why not open my own
boutique eliminate that middle man, make whatever I wanted? So I did. All is well, I love my store, I love making stuff and I have some really great and loyal customers!

I have once been told, "You NEED to stick with making ONE thing or you will never get anywhere!"

List of Things I do:
  1. Paint-on canvas, furniture, fabric, rugs, walls or just about anywhere. If it can be painted I probably have done it.
  2. Sew-from quilting to clothing, handbags, accessories, drapery, bedding to custom artwork made of fabric etc.
  3. Knit??- I am learning this as we speak, so keep your eye out for my step by step progress.
  4. Illustration
  5. Paper crafts

Yes, I see how it would makes sense for me to do just one thing. However, if you know me, you well know that that is not possible. Besides, if I stuck to one thing, I would hate it and not want to do it! See in my world, I make lots of things all the time. I never get bored, I have fun and I am happy. Besides, most importantly my ADHD has worked out for me. So, let me be all over the place I am having fun!

My friends don't mind and some even really look forward to seeing what I am making. Hey I even get some of them like Jaime to join in on me. She is learning to knit with me. This is hard to do when you are over the phone as was the case last week, while she was in the keys. I was shopping at Target and I was trying to explain over the phone how to start stitches once you have casted on. I don't think my phone instructions worked. I will have to call her to see...
